In the mid-90′s, the fellows from the band KLF (later known as the K Foundation) burned in a great fire their entire net worth in cash – about a million pounds. This is a talk show clip where their decision is “debated.” It reveals something essential about our relationship to money and the notion that money is itself a thing rather than a relationship. It’s just lovely. Joe Elliott, the lead singer of Def Leppard, is also a guest. He is beside himself with contempt and confusion. Apparently it would have been the morally superior gesture to blow it all on coke and a mansion in the Hamptons.
